NGO VoRAE has selected the Mayor of Fushë Kosovë/Kosovo Polje Municipality, Mr, Burim Berisha for the friendliest Mayor with Roma community. The selection was made based on the open call for applications and in close cooperation with members of the European Commission and civil society.
The award has been part of the regional campaign for the active citizenship of Roma community and their inclusion in socio-economic life, which aims to raise awareness and change attitudes towards the inclusion of Roma in Kosovo society.
The winner of this award, Mr. Burim BERISHA will represent Kosovo at the Summit that will be held in Brussels on dates: 09 and 12 April 2018, during the "Roma Week" that will be organized in honour of the Roma International Day, with recognition of the Roma people and their culture, language, anthem and their flag.
During the award ceremonies, present were: civil society, the Head of Operation, European Union office in Kosovo, (Stefano Njoki) as well the local officials from the Municipality of Fushe Kosova/Kosovo Polje.
